Abstract
La nueva versión de USB (USB 3.0), cuyos estándares fueron emitidos en noviembre de 2008,
ha recibido algunas mejoras significativas respecto la versión anterior (USB 2.0). Las
principales ventajas de la nueva interfaz son una alta velocidad de hasta 5 Gbit/s, la gestión
avanzada de la energía del bus y la compatibilidad con versiones anteriores de USB. La
tecnología Thunderbolt es en estos días otro interfaz muy competitivo que combina las
características de la interfaz PCI-Express y del DisplayPort. Hay disponible una comparación
interesante con la interfaz USB 3.0.
