Abstract
NEXT Virtual Campus is an interactive digital representation of Odesa Polytechnic designedto present the university in a virtual environment. The project transforms selected universityspaces into an accessible 3D environment where users can explore the campus, enterselected educational and research spaces, interact with digital objects and discoverinformation about the university. The concept combines 3D modelling, virtual reality, digitalstorytelling and interactive educational content. Rather than creating only a static architecturalmodel, the team proposes a virtual university experience. A visitor becomes an activeparticipant who can move through the digital campus and discover its educational, scientificand student environment. The concept directly supports the NEXT Student Project Contestidea of using digital artefacts to represent universities in a “virtual world”.
The NEXT Virtual Campus will be developed as an interactive prototype of Odesa Polytechnicin a virtual environment. The user starts at a virtual Welcome Point, which introduces OdesaPolytechnic and provides navigation through the available locations.
The prototype is proposed around several interconnected zones.
