Abstract
The project aims in creation of an immersive virtual lecture classroom based on the VRChatplatform, using a modern 3D model of the space. This environment provides students andinstructors with a strong sense of presence, helping to overcome the limitations of distancelearning.
Through interactive tools such as a virtual whiteboard and media screens, participants will beable to interact with educational materials and with one another as naturally as they would ina real classroom.
This project is a fully functional virtual educational space in VRChat designed for lectures, seminars, and collaborative discussions. The original geometry of the selected 3D model isrefined and optimized. Corrections to the polygonal mesh and properly configured UV mappinghelp prevent visual artifacts after the model is integrated into the development environment. The main focus is on interactivity and social interaction based on VRChat’s client-serversynchronization architecture. The classroom features a large central screen based on a videoplayer, allowing the lecturer to stream educational videos, presentations, or live broadcasts viaURL links. An interactive marker board will be located nearby. Lecturers and students will beable to write, draw, and create graphs using VR controllers or a mouse. All changes made tothe board and media screen will be updated instantly for everyone present in the classroom.Particular attention is paid to scene optimization. To ensure high performance, lighting is bakeddirectly into the textures. A carefully designed sound zoning system is also implemented: thelecturer’s voice near the board is clearly audible over a greater distance than localconversations between users seated at the back of the classroom.
This solution is intended to recreate the feeling of authentic student life and academicconcentration in a distance-learning environment.
